good value if only it lasted longer

I purchased 4 of these bulbs 13 months ago and 2 have failed in that time with an average total usage of about 600 hours each. This seems to be the norm for 12 volt CF lighting I've used over the past 20 years. The AC versions last for years and years and I guess I expected the 12 volt version to also last a long time. So, having a small PV system, I will continue to use these efficient bulbs. I only hope that new technology will improve their lifespan or that LED lighting will continue to fall in price.
