A little overpriced and tricky but it works

Seems like a simple part like this could cost a little less. I've replaced these before, they are a bit tricky to remove and install, mainly in terms of orientation relative to the locking pin on the vent cover. But, it works.

Great customer service, very bad product

The parts were expensive considering the manufacturing cost was probably about $1 but I accept that, it can be difficult to find specialised parts.
I fitted it successfully and everything looked good but the following morning I found it had snapped at the top. I fashioned an aluminium piece to fit onto the original plastic shaft and used the lock handle from this kit to replace the one missing from mine, it fitted well but.. (you guessed it..) I found it had broken the following morning. As a retired plastic component designer I can say that the grade of plastic is clearly not able to withstand any stress (it needs a glass fibre filler to be effective) and the latch itself is a poor design. Save your time, don't buy it. I must say that the customer service from Dyer was EXCELLENT! They refunded my money quickly and without question, I would definitely use them again.

Bought camper in 2021 replaced lock kit twice

I am happy with Dyers. They keep these in stock and promptly ship when I place an order. I would not purchase a Fan-Tastic fan as it is poorly made. I bought 2 lock kits this time as I have already had to replace this once and currently have a glued together lock knob on my fan.

Same as OEM latch. If yours broke, order two because it will break again. Poor design by Fantastic Fan company, but we have to live with it. I reinforced mine by glueing a piece of one inch pvc pipe to the back to hopefully prevent further breakage. Time will tell

Good quality. Very easy to install. Turn knob is larger than the original so easier to use. Was very happy to find a replacement kit when the original broke.
