Ordered the Atwood Dome Lock Kit for the FanTastic fan vent in our travel trailer. The original lock had failed. This replacement lock kit was a perfect fit and I believe the part was sturdier than the original; it’s still plastic though. It was easy to remove the old and install the one lock. I did buy an extra one so we have it on board just incase we need it.

The dome lock on our travel trailer’s FanTastic vent fan broke (the knob cracked in pieces as well as the part that hooks to the dome). These are all plastic parts . The kit received from Dyers was still plastic however it seemed substantially sturdier than the original part. It was easy fix with the vent dome opened. It is a two person job one person on the roof to pull the broken part out and to push the new part in place with the other person to help get the end of the new part through the hole and fasten the knob in place. The person on roof needs to make sure the part is in the open position so the knob can be attached in the open postion.

The part appears to be good quality. It is two pieces, instead of the original three-piece part. That should reduce the risk of breaking considerably.
