Exact replacement but operation still difficult.

I ordered this replacement part because my existing pocket door lock was difficult to operate. The RV that I just purchased is 10 years old, so I figured maybe it was worn out. This product is an exact replacement, and was simple to install. However, it is actually more difficult to operate than the one I replaced!
