Description / Southwire Corp 50A Permanent Hardwired RV Surge Guard
Like its 30 amp partner, the 50 amp hardwire unit is permanently installed within the bay of your coach, preventing potential theft and damage from the elements. Optional Remote LCD Display conveniently and remotely monitors RV electrical power.
Additional model 35550 features include:
- Automatic reset on power restoration
- Multi-mode surge suppression
Automatically shuts off the power when the following is present:
- Open ground
- Open neutral
- Low (<102V) and High (>132V) Voltage
- Reverse polarity
- Miswired pedestal
- High neutral current
Caution indicator lights indicate:
- Elevated ground voltage
- Surge failure indication
- 128 second reset delay protects A/C compressor.

Just installed the 50 Amp Surge Guard #35550 and the remote model #40300 and so far have been really impressed. Very easy to install and I really like having the remote to monitor the amp draw on all of my appliances - I recorded the normal amp draw so I will know if there are any issues in the future. I had a family member purchase a 5th wheel about the same time we did and chose not to use a surge guard. In their 2nd campground they hooked up to a new pedestal that was wired wrong and most of their trailer was fried - while the campground will replace all of their damaged items, the long wait to get it taken care of was enough proof that we made the right decision to invest in this product.
