Goodbye Hydraulic Jacks!

Outstanding Retrofit
Purchased these to upgrade my old heavy camper that had old leaking hydraulic jacks with these electric jacks. Wow! What a difference. One thing they don't mention is when you are jacking up a camper one jack at a time the camper is constantly racking from the imbalance. Now my camper glides up and down all together smoothly with no racking! That can only add a few more years to my camper. People said I was crazy to install these expensive jacks on an older camper, but I couldn't be happier with the result. Install went smoothly. I have to say I am very handy with no problem wiring or modifying brackets etc to make it work. Wish I had done it years ago!

I have a VERY heavy camper, an Eagle Cap dual-slide 1160, that I've made even heavier. I have a DOT scale very close to the house, it's ~6500lbs. Well, the OEM HappiJac's aren't so happy with it. They groaned, grunted and if it's the slightest bit heavy on one corner, frequently engaged the safety clutches, or just blown a fuse. I had the Rieco's as OEM jacks on an Arctic Fox I had, they had always worked flawless, so I decided to take the plunge and go for it.
Delivery didn't come via UPS/FedEx, rather, a Freight shipper on a pallet, so they didn't come in the allotted 5 days, but only 2 days longer. No big deal.
Installation was easy, only minor drilling to relocate mounting holes from the old Crappijacks. After the install was done, I noticed one motor had a slightly different noise than the rest, the gears weren't meshing as smooth whether free-wheeling or under load. Called Rieco to see if there's any greasing, lubing or adjusting i can do, NO QUESTIONS ASKED they sent me a replacement, with a return shipping tag for the old one.
There needs to be another star-rating, one for Service, because I would give them 5 for that also.

The jacks work very well when the controller / remote works but I am getting ready to purchase my 3rd controller / remote in 5 years. Of course the first time they went out, the warranty had just expired by about a month so I had to buy a new unit. I thought they might give me a break since the warranty just went out but that didn't happen. They have stopped working again and I am now looking to adapt some type controller that is not Rieco-Titan.
