Prime Products 7/8" Ace Key Baggage Lock - 4 Pack

These lock cylinders fit in the compartment door openings with no grief. The simple install went quickly and painlessly. It's the actual use of the locks that slants my review. First off, the key is only removable in the "locked" position, so there is no way to close the compartment with just the thumb latches without locking the door again. If you remove the key with the door open and try to close the compartment, the cam is in the LOCKED position and the door won't close! Secondly, the cylinder itself is finicky and temperamental. You have to hold the key in at just the right angle and apply strong straight pressure to make the key turn, and when it does turn, you can feel the tumbler pins sometimes bind a bit at the shear line. Other tubular keys I use (such as a Kryptonite bike lock) don't have this touchy behavior. For the money spent, I guess they're OK, but it would have been nicer if they operated smoother and released the key in the unlocked position.

I don't know why RV's don't come with these as standard locks.
They are many times better than OEM locks.
