Lippert Components 9" Hydraulic Jack Replacement Foot Pad
Review byOtto
Plattsburgh, United States
LIPPERT JUNK! Foot pads are not heavy enough steel to prevent the hydraulic ram from the jacks breaking through the center of the jack pads. The first time it happened, it scared me to death as the whole camper listed to one side. The ram punchured through the center of the foot pad driving the jack ram deep down into the ground. I found an old lawn mower blade that I placed between the jack pad and a leveling pad. That worked in an emergency for leveling the camper. Once i returned home, I purchased some 1/4" plate steel that I cut into four 8" squares. Each square was permanently mounted to 4 jack pads. After noting the other 3 jack pads were ready to puncture through, I purchased 4 of Lippert's JUNK jack pads to replace all of them. Upon replacing them, I swapped out Lippert's 1 1/2" bolts for 2". I added approximately 1/2" of heavy washers to the longer bolt which now made to bolt head almost even with the foot pad once mounted. The bolt is now slightly recessed instead of the original 1/2" resessing preventing the hydraulic ram from pushing through the center of the pad.
Dyer's is a great company to work with. Shipping of the pads was extremely quick and pricing was fair.
Pads were easy to install and Dryers had the best price. I would recommend putting thread lock on the bolt before the install and torque it to specification.
