No surprises
The hardest part of the installation was figuring out how to get the 100 pound unit safely up and on the roof. A strong 18 year old on the roof pulling a strap attached to it and me pushing from the bottom to keep it from hitting the side of the trailer was all it took. Everything else was textbook for the installation and the AC worked first try.

I followed the installation instructions provided in it was simple, and the unit does heat and cool. The cooling aspect will have to wait until summer to be fully proven, when our days are 95 degrees and above. The only issue I did encounter was the wire color in the instructions didn't match the color of the wires on the unit I received. The box it was shipped in could be improved. The guerillas at FedEx were able to just about destroy it.

nof it ide ot happy with the heating s
as far as the ac side of this unit it works excellant, but dont expect the heater to work below 45 degres. Used the heat side some last fall and in cold weather(below 45 degrees) the unit will work for a short time and then shut off.You will need to shut it off with the remote ,waite 10 minutes and restart it and repeat every time it shuts down on its own.First time I called on this unit apparenely no one knew about the problem but apparently enough people complained that they are aware of it now. As I stated ac excellent ,heat a one star..

Atwood air command is perfect
I have had one for 4 years now. My use is not for an RV. I do fiber optic splicing all over the country, it is installed in a 7x12 trailer, I use my unit 10 hours per day at least 5 days a week. It has been perfect. Some of the sites I work at are extremely remote and on roads that are seldom paved, so I promise you this unit can take abuse and keep chugging along. Quiet? Not the most but better than any Coleman I have owned. It has a low fan speed setting which I use the most after bringing the trailer temp down. Heat Pump? I use it all the time.
When and if this one breaks, I still will only consider an Atwood to replace it with.

New on the market, i like it.
Atwood is new to a/c units, but is a long trusted name in rv products. I bought this unit based on the quality behind the brand name. That being said, the company that designed these Air Command units is a subsidiary company based out of Australia and claim to have tested the product in the outback. I installed the unit, the a/c blows cold, isn't loud and was 30lbs lighter than my original. The heat pump actually warms better than i expected, although hasn't been tested in winter yet. We will have to see how time effects it, but in my 88' class c Fleetwood 27ft it seems to do its job well.
