Leaks like a sieve

Terrible design. There is no seal between the telescoping part and the main assembly. When you pour water in, a large quantity leaks back out between the sliding and stationary parts of the mechanism and pours down the outside of my RV. Didn't discover until already installed. Who would design something like this???? I am REALLY upset.
