Description / Coleman MACH TWO TON Plus™ Central Air Conditioner w/ Heat Pump
The TWO TON Plus™ Central Air Conditioner. You won't see it on the rooftop of your RV because this alternative air conditioner actually installs completely out of sight on, or underneath, the floor of your RV!
If this is a new install, you can customize the installation to locate the unit where it works best in your particular RV application, and can also tailor the air distribution system to fit your design requirements. It also contributes to a lower center of gravity, enhancing the overall stability of the vehicle. If you're not sure where that might be, we always recommend you seek assistance from a certified technician.
This packaged heat pump mounts below the floor of the vehicle. The innovative design makes it possible to maintain a smooth, free-flowing roof line for the vehicle. It also relocates all heat pump noise and condensate pump drainage off the roof to below the floor of the vehicle.
The TWO TON Plus™ is unique because it utilizes two 13,500 BTU compressors in a single unit. This unit operates a two stage system in cooling, running a single compressor when the air conditioning requirement is low, or with two compressors when maximum cooling is required.
The first compressor and refrigeration circuit is referred to as "1st Stage." The second compressor and refrigeration circuit is referred to as "2nd Stage."
The "1st Stage" will operate when the thermostat is demanding cooling, or the vehicle is being powered by either shore line or the on-board generator.
The "2nd Stage" will operate when the thermostat senses room temperature is 2 degrees higher than setpoint, or the vehicle has enough power.
The heat pump operation always energizes both refrigeration circuits with a 30 second delay between compressor 1 start-up and compressor 2 start-up, however; only refrigeration circuit #1 operates if power is not available for circuit #2.
The TWO TON Plus™ 46515 Series Heat Pump uses a factory installed High Pressure Switch Safety Circuit which will prevent the compressor from continuing to run in the event of an abnormal condition such as failure of a fan motor, dirty condensor coil, dirty filters. There is a manual reset pressure switch but it shall only be accessed by Qualified Technicians.
It automatically cycles on one or both compressors, as required, to meet your air conditioning or heating needs. In the heating mode, the TWO TON Plus™ heat pump uses electricity to provide heat.

The unit cools good. The first time I tested it on heat it worked fine, the second time, It makes a rattling noise inside the unit. I will have to pull it out again and take it apart to find out what is rattling. It didn't come with any instructions showing how to wire it. The new unit control board doesn't have the same connections. I don't know what to do with the two extra wires. It works except for the low speed fan. It came with sheet metal protecting the outside coil. When I removed the sheet metal protection, there were two screws smashed into the coil fins. I couldn't see any damage to the coil tubing so, I'm hoping it will be ok. There were three screws missing from the cabinet. The bottom of the electrical door was supposed to be on the outside of the cabinet. It was on the inside. That made it very hard to remove the door. I had to bend the bottom of the cabinet to get it out and install it right. I'm not looking forward to removing the unit again to fix the rattle inside. It only does it when it's on heat.
